ChoreApp
I have been working with a JavaScript framework developed by a colleague of mine (Doug Weber) called Kubari. It’s a really nice JavaScript MVC that works great in phonegap projects.
My oldest daughter has been very persistent in her request for an iPhone. I decided to make it an opportunity for her to learn something and for us to do something together. So I made a deal with her. She comes up with an app idea and helps me develop it. She has to design it and learn some basic HTML, CSS and JavaScript. And I will get her an iPod Touch.
She came up with some chore charts for the summer that she made on her own in Numbers. I told her that it looks alot like how a database is organized. So, we thought maybe a chore app would be a good one to do together. She set out on designing logos and screens. And I wanted to see what I could do with Kubari and my jsActive Model project. We gave ourselves a deadline of 14 days.
15 days later ChoreApp was complete. My Daughter had a basic understanding of how HTML, CSS and JavaScript work together and some basic understanding of the different syntax.
It’s all online and you can check it out at choreapp.com.
